Animal Wall Art

Animals.. What does that word evoke in the human mind? Power? Grace? Closeness to Nature? Vulnerability? Endangered? Whatever be the emotion it elicits, animals are meant to remind us humans that we are all part of a single whole. The proximity to animals makes us unlearn the destructive lessons of civilization and progress. When we are close to them, we recollect the first lesson of nature that we did let fall by the wayside as we walked down the path of evolution – the lesson was, “live, and let live.”

The world is facing a premature extinction with all its life forms due to the global warming. Animals are not responsible for it. Man is. We moved far away from animals in their natural habitats and moved into cities, forgetting to learn from them how to live within the environment, and not try to rape it for profits. We left animals in zoos, again keeping them away from their natural habitats. Time has come to remind ourselves continuously of the responsibility we have towards the global conservation of flora, fauna and environment. How better can we remind ourselves of these responsibilities than spicing up our home decor with prints or paintings of fine animal art? Would it be a canvas art of a regal Royal Bengal Tiger, resplendent in its natural habitat of the Indian forests? Would it be the paintings of marine life, serene in its azure depths? Would it be the wall art of intrepid birds in their celestial flight across the vastness we call the sky?

Conjure up your drawing room with an artwork of an animal. Does your mental eye see the difference it makes? A blank wall gaping at the guest or a canvas of a delicate puppy with its tranquil eyes – which one of these seems more appealing to you? Think of an office lounge with its rude physicality of glass, steel and concrete – and transpose a wall art of a herd of Cape buffalo in the vast African Savannah – you immediately transport the casual visitor to a realm the human soul secretly yearns for – freedom and oneness with nature. Imagine a bland apartment and replace it with one where paintings of animal art adorn most walls at strategic places. For a fraction of the cost, you have transformed your living space from ordinary to exquisite. God lies in the detail. A creator of artwork on animal themes needs to be particularly mindful of the nuances of the animal form. The artist with an eye for detail will endeavor not only to capture the features of an animal, but also its expression. Done on a sturdy cotton canvas, the artwork exudes a drama that few works of animal wall art can match.

A splash of bright colors is what comes to mind whenever we think of animals. The gold and black of a Bengal Tiger, the golden yellow of a lion, the multi-colored birds; it’s a riot of colors out there in the animal kingdom. Borrow a bit of this brightness into the grayness of our city lives. Marooned far from our animal roots, the best we can do today is acquiring an artwork on animal themes and put it on our walls to remind us constantly that we are related. Or so nature designed.
